Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) in Chula Vista, CA

This contract role centers on facilitating high-quality outcomes through skillful assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, working closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Schedule & Call:

• Day shift
• 2–8 hour call shifts every 4 weeks
• 30-minute response time required

Qualifications:

• Active California RN license
• CPR and NRP certification
• Minimum three years of recent experience as a registered nurse
• Minimum two years of recent experience in an OR or related specialty
• Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
• Ability to submit an OR-specific questionnaire

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and holistic care based on patients’ self-identified goals, utilizing the complete nursing process
• Thoroughly assess patient and family needs, establishing priorities and documenting data accurately
• Develop care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• Implement evidence-based nursing interventions, adapting plans in response to patient progress and family input
• Continuously evaluate care effectiveness, updating goals and interventions as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Serve as a strong advocate for patients and families, supporting participation in decision-making and championing their rights
• Educate patients and families with tailored learning plans, revising approaches based on ongoing evaluation
• Maintain seamless communication with the entire healthcare team to coordinate care and expedite workflow
• Assign appropriate tasks to team members within their scope as care needs dictate
• Adhere strictly to departmental policies, guidelines, and quality standards
