Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in perioperative procedures and protocols
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR support staff
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients throughout pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and available
- Collaborate closely with surgical teams to anticipate needs and respond promptly during procedures
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, anesthetic administration, and overall condition during surgeries
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in compliance with facility protocols
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and patient safety standards
- Provide emotional support to patients and families before and after surgery
