Registered Nurse - Operating Room | Corning, New York

Advance your nursing career in a dynamic operating room setting with a contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse skilled in surgical procedures. This role requires expertise across a range of specialties, including orthopedics, Davinci robotic-assisted surgeries, neurosurgery, general surgery, and gynecology. You’ll play a pivotal role in patient care during perioperative phases while collaborating in a dedicated healthcare team focused on excellent outcomes.

Schedule/Hours:

• Open to both 8-hour and 10-hour shift options
• Call responsibility: one weekday on-call every two weeks
• Participation in a weekend call rotation

Qualifications:

• Active RN licensure required
• Two or more years of recent operating room experience preferred
• Demonstrated competency in ortho, Davinci, neuro, general, and gyn cases
• Knowledge of surgical techniques, infection control, and sterile field protocols
• BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative care, including patient assessment, planning, and implementation
• Prepare and maintain the sterile operating room environment
• Assist surgeons during procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring safe patient care
• Safeguard patients’ well-being by closely monitoring their condition throughout procedures
• Accurately document care, maintaining compliance with facility policies
• Support post-operative recovery and patient education as assigned
• Actively participate in ongoing professional development and training
