Qualifications:

  • Current and unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of two years of recent Operating Room nursing experience
  • Experience as an educator or in clinical staff development preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
  • Excellent communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the perioperative setting
  • Mentor and educate new OR nurses and ancillary staff, delivering in-services, orientations, and hands-on training
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and multidisciplinary teams to maintain a safe surgical environment
  • Develop and update educational materials and training modules for OR staff
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and documentation standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance assessments
