An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to support surgical teams in a dynamic environment. This contract position welcomes candidates who are comfortable with either 8- or 10-hour shifts. The role requires adaptable professionals ready to take on a call schedule—which includes one weekday on call every two weeks and participation in the weekend call rotation.
Required Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Demonstrated experience in an OR setting
- Proficiency in orthopedic, Davinci robotic-assisted, neurosurgical, general, and gynecological procedures
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced surgical environment
- BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred
- Previous travel assignments (a plus, but not required)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for surgery and assist surgical team with procedures in the operating room
- Monitor patient status, provide perioperative care, and ensure a sterile and safe environment
- Accurately document all aspects of nursing care in compliance with hospital standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, surgeons, anesthesia teams, and fellow nurses
- Adhere to protocols for infection control and patient safety
- Participate actively in the call rotation (one weekday on call every two weeks, plus weekend rotation as scheduled)
