Skilled Registered Nurses experienced in operating room settings are needed for a contract opportunity. This position requires clinical expertise in perioperative care, patient safety protocols, and surgical team collaboration. Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license
- Proven experience as an Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse
- BLS certification (required); additional certifications such as ACLS preferred
- Strong understanding of surgical aseptic technique and infection control
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and support staff
- Comfortable utilizing EMR systems and adapting to evolving technologies
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time hours, based on facility needs
- Contract duration with potential for extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring readiness of sterile instruments and equipment
- Monitor and document patient status throughout perioperative phases
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and maintaining a sterile field
- Work closely with the surgical team to anticipate needs and facilitate efficient procedures
- Perform surgical counts, instrument management, and specimen handling
- Support post-operative recovery and provide direct patient care as needed
- Adhere to facility and nursing policies, maintaining the highest standards of safety and patient care
