Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in an operating room setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications (must be active and valid)
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and surgical instruments
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
Responsibilities:
- Circulate and/or scrub during a variety of surgical procedures, providing direct and individualized care to each patient
- Collaborate with surgical team members including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure patient safety
- Maintain accurate documentation of operative procedures and patient responses
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, anticipating and responding to surgical complications or emergencies
- Adhere strictly to infection control and patient safety protocols throughout each procedure
- Support the surgical suite by preparing, organizing, and managing surgical tools, supplies, and equipment
- Educate patients and families about operative procedures and post-operative care as needed
