Experienced Registered Nurses with a background in the Operating Room are invited to apply for an opportunity to provide skilled perioperative care in a dynamic clinical setting. This contract role focuses on supporting surgical teams and ensuring patient safety throughout operative procedures.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with clear standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) environment
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Thorough understanding of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, instrumentation, and safety systems
  • Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations, maintaining focus and composure
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to evolving surgical cases

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs before, during, and after procedures
  • Prepare and maintain the operating suite, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available and sterile
  • Safeguard patient safety and dignity, adhering strictly to infection control protocols
  • Monitor patients’ vitals and status intraoperatively, anticipating needs and responding to changes promptly
  • Accurately complete documentation and maintain patient records according to facility standards
  • Participate actively in pre-op assessments, intraoperative care, and post-anesthesia recovery
  • Support patient and family education before and after surgery, answering questions and providing reassurance
