Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience preferred
- Proven skills in perioperative care, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op support
- BLS certification required; additional specialty certifications (such as CNOR) are a plus
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with surgical teams and follow sterile procedures
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment with variable shifts based on facility needs (discuss during interview)
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room with necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment
- Assess, monitor, and manage patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Provide direct care by assisting surgeons and ensuring a sterile, safe environment
- Adhere to hospital protocols and surgical standards to minimize risk and enhance patient safety
- Accurately document intraoperative findings and nursing interventions
- Respond quickly to emergencies or changes in patient status
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain clear communication with patients and families regarding the perioperative process
