Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) in Johnson City, NY

Step into a pivotal role supporting surgical excellence as an Operating Room Registered Nurse. This contract opportunity offers the chance to put your specialized skills to work in a dynamic OR setting for evening shifts.

Schedule:

• 3 x 12-hour evening shifts per week (36 hours total)
• Evening shift schedule
• One weekend required every 3 to 4 weeks
• 1 to 2 on-call shifts weekly

Desired Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 3–5 years of Operating Room experience as a traveler
• Current BLS certification
• Exposure to a variety of specialties including trauma (preferred but not required), general surgery, gynecology (GYN), genitourinary (GU), ear-nose-throat (ENT), orthopedics, and robotics
• Excellent critical thinking and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered care throughout the surgical process, including pre-operative preparation, intraoperative support, and post-operative recovery monitoring
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and uphold the highest standards of infection prevention
• Document all aspects of care clearly in patient records
• Participate in call coverage as required, demonstrating flexibility and reliability
