Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) in Kannapolis, NC

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide expert care in the Operating Room. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic environment with a focused surgical team and emphasizes consistent clinical practice in perioperative care.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour day shifts (11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.)
• 36 hours per week
• Average of 6 on-call shifts per 6-week period (45-minute response time required)
• Weekend coverage may include call or scheduled shifts, primarily 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; call shifts are 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Expectation to work 75% of holidays
• No floating required

Qualifications:

• Active and unencumbered RN license with current certification in Operating Room nursing
• Minimum of two years’ recent experience in OR (perioperative) settings
• BLS certification (required); ACLS preferred
• Strong working knowledge of standard OR protocols and infection control practices
• Ability to function autonomously, prioritize under pressure, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
• Capable of meeting 45-minute on-call response time

Responsibilities:

• Circulate and/or scrub in a variety of surgical procedures alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and techs
• Maintain aseptic techniques and adhere to all surgical safety protocols
• Monitor and document patient status throughout perioperative phases
• Collaborate with physicians to deliver optimal patient care
• Manage emergency interventions as needed within the OR
• Provide compassionate support, patient education, and effective communication to patients and families
