As a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room, you will play a key role in delivering comprehensive care across the full continuum, from pre-operative to post-operative procedures for patients across the lifespan. Your Background Should Include:

  • NLN-approved Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Valid Alaska RN License in good standing
  • Minimum 1–2 years of Operating Room experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS required; PALS and National Certification in Surgery/PACU preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AORN standards and medical terminology
  • Strong communication, analytical, and reasoning skills
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural competence and adapt to diverse patient needs
  • Must provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient care using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Coordinate and direct nursing care, ensuring best possible patient outcomes
  • Serve as a clinical resource for peers and support staff
  • Perform patient and family education, collaborate across disciplines, and maintain detailed documentation
  • Administer treatments, interpret diagnostics, and uphold patient safety standards
