Deliver expert care in a dynamic surgical environment in this Operating Room Registered Nurse role. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support patients and families on their surgical journey, collaborating within a high-functioning OR team to ensure exceptional outcomes.
Schedule/Hours:
- Day shift
- Rotating 2-8 hour on-call shifts every 4 weeks (30-minute response time required)
Qualifications:
- Active California RN license
- Current certifications in CPR and NRP
- Minimum three years’ recent experience as an RN
- At least two years’ recent experience in a specialty OR setting
- Must complete and submit the Operating Room questionnaire
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized perioperative care, addressing holistic needs and patient-identified goals
- Apply the nursing process through comprehensive assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Promote positive clinical outcomes through high standards of safety and quality
- Partner with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and update care plans
- Serve as an advocate, empowering patients and families in decision-making
- Identify educational needs, implementing and evaluating education using adult-learning principles
- Communicate effectively within the healthcare team, coordinating care activities to support optimal patient progress
- Delegate appropriate care tasks to qualified team members, ensuring compliance and best practice
- Proactively seek additional resources or consultations for complex clinical scenarios
Additional Expectations:
- Timely and thorough documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Facilitate efficient workflow and patient throughput in collaboration with OR and ancillary staff
- Participate actively in patient care conferences and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
