Experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses are sought to provide exceptional perioperative care within a dynamic surgical environment. This contract position is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced setting and are committed to delivering high-quality surgical nursing care. Successful candidates will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and maintain a safe environment throughout the operative process.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • Proven experience as an OR nurse or in a perioperative nursing role
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
  • Proficiency in circulating and scrubbing for a variety of surgical specialties
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile field setup, and surgical instrumentation
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in emergent situations

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and available
  • Assess, plan, implement, and document nursing care plans for each patient
  • Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and seamless workflow
  • Maintain compliance with infection control policies and safety standards
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to any complications during surgery
  • Educate patients and families about perioperative procedures and post-operative care
