Skills and Qualifications:

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) or perioperative environment
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and infection control
  • Ability to work collaboratively with surgical teams and respond calmly under pressure
  • Excellent communication, assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position; details regarding shift schedules will be discussed during the interview process

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments in compliance with strict safety and aseptic protocols
  • Monitor patient vital signs, advocate for patient needs, and communicate status changes promptly to the surgical team
  • Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals throughout procedures
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies and standards
  • Participate actively in pre-op assessments, patient teaching, and post-anesthesia recovery care
  • Promote a safe and supportive environment for patients and colleagues
