Qualifications:

  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an operating room setting
  • Experience as a nurse educator or preceptor is highly desirable
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide patient care in the operating room, maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols
  • Support surgical teams, circulating and scrubbing as needed based on departmental needs
  • Deliver orientation, in-services, and continuing education sessions for new and current operating room staff
  • Assess learning needs and develop educational materials to promote evidence-based practices
  • Monitor staff competency, providing real-time feedback, guidance, and ongoing support
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance quality and efficiency in perioperative care
  • Assist with policy updates and implementation of new surgical procedures or technologies
