Registered Nurse - Operating Room | New Britain, Connecticut

Step into a dynamic Operating Room nursing role in an environment that values your expertise and commitment to exceptional patient care. As a Registered Nurse specializing in surgical services, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care alongside a collaborative surgical team.

Schedule/Hours:

• Four 10-hour shifts, 6:30 am–5:00 pm (flexibility in start/end times)
• Weekday call coverage: 5:00 pm–7:00 am, one day per week
• Weekend call: 48 hours, one weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday)

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent Operating Room RN experience
• Spine case experience highly preferred
• Ability to scrub is a plus
• Current BLS certification required
• Excellent critical thinking and organizational skills
• Strong communication abilities and ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical setting

Responsibilities:

• Deliver skilled, patient-centered care in the Operating Room before, during, and after surgery
• Scrub and circulate as needed for varied case types, maintaining strict aseptic technique
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure all equipment and supplies are available and sterile
• Support surgical procedures with a focus on patient safety and high standard outcomes
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and support staff to ensure seamless care
• Participate in on-call rotations according to schedule requirements
• Actively contribute to a safe, respectful, and efficient surgical environment
