An exciting opportunity awaits Registered Nurses with advanced peri-operative skills to provide exceptional surgical care in a dynamic operating room environment. In this contract role, you will collaborate with a skilled surgical team, assisting surgeons in a lead capacity throughout procedures. Under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, you’ll ensure patient safety and exemplary outcomes while maintaining adherence to best clinical practices.

Schedule & Hours

  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • On-call responsibilities two days during the week (5 PM or end of shift to 7 PM)
  • One weekend on-call (Saturday and Sunday) every three weekends (24-hour coverage per day)

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
  • Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • ACLS certification
  • BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross
  • Successful completion of an RN First Assisting course meeting AORN’s Core Curriculum standards
  • Minimum of 5 years of broad peri-operative nursing experience, demonstrating proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating

Key Responsibilities

  • Assume a lead role in assisting the surgeon throughout operative procedures, from preparation to conclusion
  • Circulate as needed, supporting patient safety, equipment readiness, and sterile technique
  • Collaborate closely with surgical, anesthesia, and peri-operative teams to coordinate seamless patient care
  • Uphold all organizational and regulatory policies within a fast-paced surgical environment
