Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) in Owego, NY

Exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in the Operating Room to provide crucial support in a dynamic surgical environment. This contract role is ideal for professionals who excel in fast-paced settings and enjoy collaborating with skilled surgical teams.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour evening shifts, 36 hours per week
• 3 shifts per week
• One weekend shift every 3 to 4 weeks (evening)
• 1 to 2 on-call shifts per week

Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 3-5 years of recent experience in an OR setting
• Current BLS certification
• Previous experience in trauma surgery is preferred, but not required
• Clinical background in any of the following specialties desired: General Surgery, GYN, GU, ENT, Orthopedics, or Robotics
• Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a collaborative environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Circulate and/or scrub on a variety of surgical cases, ensuring patient safety and sterile technique at all times
• Prepare the operating room, instruments, and supplies prior to procedures
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs for smooth case flow
• Provide intraoperative nursing care, maintaining accurate documentation
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and support trauma cases as needed
• Participate in call coverage as scheduled, ensuring readiness for urgent surgical needs
