Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) - Pelham, AL

Experienced registered nurses with a background in the operating room are invited to take on an impactful contract assignment. Key Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of one year recent experience working as an operating room RN
• Solid knowledge of perioperative nursing principles, sterile technique, and surgical procedures
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS highly preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia teams, and other staff
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment is properly set and functioning
• Work as a circulating or scrub nurse to support surgeons and maintain a sterile field
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, comfort, and well-being before, during, and after procedures
• Document care delivered and updates in the patient’s medical record
• Adhere closely to hospital protocols and infection control guidelines
• Provide clear explanations and reassurance to patients and families
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies or changes in patient condition
