Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative care protocols
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure scenarios
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical interventions, adhering to best practices for patient safety and infection control
- Circulate and/or scrub during surgeries, ensuring proper setup and maintenance of the sterile field
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to support optimal outcomes
- Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures, recognizing and responding to acute changes
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of perioperative activities and interventions
- Educate patients and family members on pre- and post-operative protocols as needed
- Assist in procedure room and equipment preparation, inventory control, and compliance with all hospital policies
