Registered Nurse - Operating Room | Penfield, New York

Qualifications and Required Experience:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative care protocols
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure scenarios

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients undergoing surgical interventions, adhering to best practices for patient safety and infection control
• Circulate and/or scrub during surgeries, ensuring proper setup and maintenance of the sterile field
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to support optimal outcomes
• Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures, recognizing and responding to acute changes
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of perioperative activities and interventions
• Educate patients and family members on pre- and post-operative protocols as needed
• Assist in procedure room and equipment preparation, inventory control, and compliance with all hospital policies
