Operating Room RN in Penfield, NY

Bring your expertise in perioperative nursing to a dynamic contract opportunity where you’ll play a crucial role in patient care during surgical procedures. As an RN in the Operating Room, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred)
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and patient safety protocols
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver skilled and compassionate preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to surgical patients
• Circulate and/or scrub on cases, ensuring adherence to sterile technique and safety standards
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members to anticipate needs and facilitate efficient procedures
• Monitor patients for changes and respond appropriately throughout the surgical process
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses according to facility protocols
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and a safe environment in the operating area
