Registered Nurse - Operating Room - Penfield, New York

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in the Operating Room to join a dynamic surgical team on a contract basis. This role centers on providing direct perioperative care to patients, collaborating closely with surgeons and surgical staff, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after procedures. Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• Proven experience in the Operating Room (OR) as a circulating and/or scrub nurse
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to patient-centered care and adherence to established protocols

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating room with necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies
• Assist surgical team during procedures by anticipating needs and ensuring sterile technique
• Monitor the patient’s status throughout the procedure, responding promptly to any changes
• Perform thorough documentation of intraoperative events, medications, and interventions
• Uphold high standards of infection control and regulatory compliance
• Provide post-operative care instructions and support to patients and families
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support optimal surgical outcomes
