Bring your expertise in perioperative nursing to a high-paced surgical setting where patient safety and exceptional care are the top priorities. This opportunity focuses on utilizing your Operating Room (OR) RN skills within a contract role in an established medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Circulate and/or scrub on a variety of surgical procedures, collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists.
- Uphold strict aseptic technique, infection control standards, and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are available and properly maintained.
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments and deliver patient-centered care throughout all operative phases.
- Anticipate surgeon and patient needs, providing immediate response to surgical team requests and patient changes.
- Maintain accurate documentation of intraoperative activities, medications administered, and patient responses.
- Provide patient advocacy, emotional support, and education to patients and their families throughout the surgical experience.
- Participate in post-procedure debriefing and contribute to continuous process improvement efforts.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license for the state of New York.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in an Operating Room or perioperative setting.
- Proficiency with circulating and/or scrubbing roles across general surgery and specialty procedures.
- Excellent critical thinking, patient assessment, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team environment and adapt to changing patient or procedure needs.
