Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with eligibility to practice in NY
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile technique
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations
- Demonstrated experience in circulating and/or scrubbing is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care for patients undergoing surgery
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patient’s family members
- Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Monitor patient status and vital signs throughout procedures
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety regulations
- Provide clear documentation and accurate patient records
- Support and guide other members of the perioperative team as needed
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
