Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) in Prattville, AL

An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in the Operating Room. This position is well-suited for professionals proficient in perioperative care and looking to contribute to a dynamic surgical team on a contract basis.

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Previous experience as an Operating Room RN (perioperative nursing)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and aseptic techniques
• Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Adaptability to rapidly changing situations in the OR

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure necessary supplies and equipment are sterile and readily available
• Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Monitor patient status and vital signs, promptly reporting any changes
• Work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists
• Maintain thorough documentation for each patient and procedure according to regulations
• Uphold all safety protocols and infection prevention standards
• Educate patients and their families about expectations for the perioperative period
