Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) - Prattville, AL

Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• At least 1 year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
• Thorough understanding of perioperative nursing protocols, aseptic technique, and surgical instrumentation
• BLS certification (additional ACLS/PALS preferred)
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical situations

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Prepare operating room with necessary supplies and equipment; maintain a sterile field
• Serve as a circulating or scrub nurse based on surgical team needs
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical techs to ensure patient safety
• Accurately document care, interventions, and patient responses in real time
• Monitor patients’ condition and respond to changes promptly
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and postoperative care
