Registered Nurse - Operating Room | Prattville, Alabama

Step into a vital perioperative nursing role supporting a busy surgical team with 6 operating rooms and a dedicated cysto suite. This contract assignment is structured for four 10-hour shifts weekly, offering a dynamic environment for registered nurses passionate about the OR setting. The central sterile department includes thorough decontamination and clean/autoclave rooms to support surgical operations.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour day shifts per week

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years’ current experience as an Operating Room RN (including at least 2 years in a non-travel position)
• Strong robot-assisted surgery experience is required
• Prior exposure to General, GYN, Urology, and Vascular OR cases
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
• Experience with Ortho, Ped Dental, Podiatry, ENT, and robotic procedures is preferred but not mandatory
• Open to first-time travelers meeting the experience criteria

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as circulator for various surgical specialties, providing direct perioperative patient care
• Collaborate efficiently with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists throughout procedures
• Demonstrate adaptability in supporting a variety of patient types, including complex robotic and minimally invasive cases
• Assist with room turnover, instrument counts, and compliance with all established safety protocols
• Maintain 1:1 patient care assignments for optimal surgical outcomes
• Practice effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members
