Schedule and Hours:
- Day shift
- 2–8 hour call shifts every 4 weeks
- 30-minute response time requirement
Qualifications:
- Current California RN license
- CPR and NRP certifications required
- Minimum three years’ recent RN experience
- At least two years’ recent experience in a surgical specialty or operating room role
- Completion and submission of an OR nursing questionnaire
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized, holistic nursing care to patients and families, utilizing comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation methodologies
- Safely execute the nursing process from admission through discharge, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal outcomes
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring active participation of patients and families in care decisions and supporting their rights
- Identify priorities and care needs, developing actionable care plans in concert with healthcare team members
- Implement age- and culturally-appropriate nursing interventions, adapting plans as necessary in dynamic or high-risk situations
- Continuously evaluate patient and family progress toward identified goals, modifying plans following conferences and feedback
- Address educational needs through thoughtful assessment and application of adult learning theories, revising educational plans as required
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation per clinical guidelines and departmental standards
- Delegate appropriately to other healthcare professionals while ensuring accountability and quality of care
