As an integral part of a collaborative surgical team, you'll play a key role in supporting patients and families along their individualized care journey.
Schedule:
- Day shift
- 2–8 hour on-call shifts every 4 weeks
- 30-minute response time required
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active California RN license
- Valid CPR and NRP certifications
- Minimum of three years recent RN experience, with at least two years in a specialty area such as the Operating Room
- Proficiency completing OR-specific assessments (OR questionnaire submission required)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect safe, age-specific, and culturally-appropriate perioperative nursing care to assigned patients and families
- Complete patient needs assessments, documenting findings and prioritizing care objectives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create individualized care plans and implement nursing interventions
- Evaluate patient and family progress toward care goals, adapting plans as necessary
- Educate patients and families by identifying barriers and employing adult-learning principles
- Act as an advocate for patient rights and participation in care decisions
- Delegate appropriate tasks to qualified healthcare team members and facilitate effective interdepartmental communication
- Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with departmental standards and compliance requirements
- Engage in patient care conferences and continuous quality improvement efforts
