Expertise in perioperative care is essential for this key role in a fast-paced surgical environment. As a professional with RN-Operating Room skills, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient procedures for patients.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, valid RN license
- Experience in an Operating Room or perioperative setting
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support, ACLS, preferred)
- Ability to adapt and prioritize in a dynamic environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and maintain sterile field throughout procedures
- Assist the surgical team during operations, anticipating needs and providing necessary instruments and supplies
- Monitor patient status before, during, and immediately after procedures, reporting changes promptly
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all documentation
- Adhere strictly to facility policies and safety protocols
- Participate in pre-op and post-op patient care and education
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal care
