A Registered Nurse with expertise in the Operating Room setting is sought for a contract assignment in Scarborough, ME. This role focuses on delivering exceptional perioperative care in a dynamic surgical environment, covering specialties including ENT, dental, plastics, pediatrics, and trauma cases. The position involves working with a multidisciplinary team to support complex procedures such as laryngoscopy, sinus surgery, facial plastics, cochlear implants, and head and neck cancer surgeries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations.
- Assisting the surgical team during various operative procedures with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilizing EPIC electronic medical records for accurate documentation and communication.
- Maintaining a flexible and patient-focused approach in a fast-paced, Level 1 trauma center environment.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety throughout surgical interventions.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Operating Room setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS preferred.
- Familiarity with AORN standards is advantageous.
- Experience with ENT, dental, plastics, pediatric, and trauma surgery.
- Comfortable functioning effectively under pressure and adaptable to changing clinical demands.
- Strong teamwork and patient-care orientation.
Schedule and Location:
- Shift options include 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (36 hours) or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours), with occasional weekend or call duties.
- 4x10 or 4x12-hour shifts are available to accommodate different scheduling preferences.
