Excellent opportunity available for an RN with First Assistant certification to contribute their expertise in a dynamic Operating Room setting. This contract role spans 18 weeks and is ideal for a nursing professional seeking to deepen their experience in surgical support and perioperative care.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 10-hour mid shifts, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • On-call requirement: weekday call extending shift until 11:00 pm at least once per week
  • On-call weekend: At least one continuous weekend (Friday–Monday, 6:30 am) per 6-week schedule cycle

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and completion of an accredited Nursing program
  • RN First Assistant (RNFA) certification required
  • Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support); additional certifications preferred
  • Minimum of two years’ recent Operating Room RN experience, including circulating and scrubbing
  • Strong clinical assessment, decision-making, and communication skills
  • Ability to function under pressure with critical thinking and collaborative abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate directly with surgeons during operative procedures as a First Assistant
  • Prepare and maintain a sterile, safe surgical environment
  • Provide intraoperative patient care, anticipating surgeon needs
  • Assist with wound closure and other delegated intraoperative tasks
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery for optimal outcomes
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to less experienced staff
  • Maintain adherence to all protocols, policies, and safety standards
