An opportunity is available for an experienced registered nurse with a strong background in operating room procedures, specifically in gynecology and genitourinary surgeries, to contribute clinical excellence in a high-acuity Level One Trauma Center. This role demands a nurse skilled in advanced surgical techniques, adept at managing a diverse patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, and comfortable working within a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of Level 1 trauma operating room nursing experience
- Proficient in the use of robotic surgical systems (Davinci Xi)
- Skilled in procedures including PCNLs, nephrectomies, ureteral reimplants, hysterectomies, cystectomies, colpocleisis, hysteroscopies, and ureteroscopies
- Comfortable providing care to patients across age groups from pediatric to geriatric
- CNOR certification preferred
- Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically Epic, strongly valued
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team, exhibiting flexibility, accountability, and punctuality
Location: Situated in South Portland, Maine, this position offers the chance to work in a supportive clinical setting known for its comprehensive trauma services and cutting-edge surgical technology. Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care in the operating room during gynecological and genitourinary surgical procedures
- Utilize state-of-the-art equipment such as Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robotics to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Monitor patient status and maintain 1:1 patient ratios in a 26-bed operating suite
- Participate in scheduled trauma calls according to specialty team protocols, including overnight coverage
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and adhere to all hospital protocols and safety standards
Schedule & Contract Details:
- Day shift: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend rotation: 1 in 4 weekends, also 12-hour shifts
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
