Make a meaningful impact as an RN in the Operating Room, providing essential support to patients and families in a collaborative, fast-paced surgical setting. This contract position is ideal for a skilled OR nurse seeking opportunities to use critical thinking and specialized nursing knowledge while working alongside a dedicated healthcare team.
Schedule/Hours:
- Day shift
- 2–8 hour on-call shifts every 4 weeks (30-minute response time required)
Desired Qualifications:
- Active CA RN license
- BLS (CPR) and NRP certifications
- Three years of recent nursing experience, with at least two years in an OR or specialty environment
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to complete an OR-specific pre-submission questionnaire
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized, holistic care tailored to each patient and family’s needs and goals during the perioperative process
- Implement the complete nursing process, including detailed assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to safely guide patient recovery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to manage complex or high-risk clinical scenarios, seeking additional resources as necessary
- Serve as a patient and family advocate, ensuring high-quality, satisfying care and clear communication throughout every phase of treatment
- Participate in patient care conferences and communicate evolving patient and family needs to the care team
- Address educational needs through thoughtful, adult-learning-based plans tailored to each patient and family
- Recognize and adapt to communication barriers, integrating interdisciplinary expertise to maintain therapeutic relationships
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and coordinate care with team members to optimize outcomes and workflow
