Embark on a fulfilling contract assignment as a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room. This opportunity offers you the chance to make a direct impact on surgical patient outcomes while supporting a dedicated surgical team.
Schedule/Hours:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
- On-call requirement: Two evenings per week (5p–7p)
- Rotating weekend call: One full weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 24 hours each day) every three weeks
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required)
- Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross
- Completion of an RN First Assisting course aligning with AORN’s Core Curriculum
- Minimum five years’ broad peri-operative nursing experience, proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon as First Assist throughout operative procedures
- Collaborate with surgical team under the direction of the Nurse Manager, ensuring adherence to organizational and departmental policies
- Circulate within the Operating Room as needed to support patient care
- Maintain a safe, organized surgical environment and uphold high standards of patient safety
- Coordinate pre-operative and post-operative care as required, acting as a resource for staff and patients alike
