Registered Nurse - Operating Room | Trussville, Alabama

Bring your expertise to an advanced perioperative setting, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering patient-centered care in the Operating Room. This contract opportunity is ideal for skilled RNs experienced in perioperative nursing, who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about making a difference for surgical patients.

Schedule/Hours:

• 36 hours per week
• 3x12 shifts: 6:00 am – 6:30 pm
• On-call required: two weekdays per month and one full weekend day per month

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current RN license, in good standing
• Minimum of one year of Operating Room RN experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of OR protocols and aseptic technique
• Familiarity with specialty procedures highly desired: ENT, Davinci XI robotic surgery, gynecological, general surgery, neurosurgery, and vascular
• BLS and ACLS certifications (preferred or required per unit standards)
• Exceptional communication and team coordination skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, effective patient care throughout perioperative phases
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field; ensure instrument availability including specialized equipment (e.g., Davinci XI robot)
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical staff for optimal patient outcomes
• Accurately document care in accordance with hospital protocols
• Support patient advocacy and comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Be reliably available for scheduled shifts and on-call assignments
