Registered Nurse - Operating Room | Trussville, Alabama

A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with specialized expertise in the Operating Room. This contract role is ideal for skilled RNs who excel in perioperative care, surgical procedures, and patient safety. You’ll work within a multidisciplinary surgical team, supporting patient outcomes throughout pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases.

Key Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in an Operating Room setting
• Proven competency with scrub and circulating duties
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique, surgical instruments, and sterile field maintenance
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Exceptional communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and quality care

Schedule/Hours:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and compassionate nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with surgeons and anesthesiologists
• Scrub and circulate during a wide range of surgical procedures, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in condition
• Document surgical procedures, patient interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Collaborate effectively with the OR team to ensure efficient case turnover and optimal patient flow
