Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) in Watertown, NY

This role seeks a Registered Nurse with a strong background in perioperative nursing to support surgical teams and enhance patient experiences throughout the procedure process. You will play a key role in surgical preparation, intraoperative care, and immediate postoperative management as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license required
• Minimum of one year of recent Operating Room nursing experience
• Proficiency in circulating and/or scrubbing within the OR setting
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide preoperative assessments and preparation to ensure patient safety and readiness for surgery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists for optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively, anticipating surgeon and patient needs
• Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control protocols
• Document operative care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record
• Manage post-anesthesia care and coordinate transition to recovery or ongoing care as appropriate
• Support patient and family education pre- and post-procedure
