Qualifications:
- Valid and current RN license
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in the Operating Room setting
- Strong understanding of surgical asepsis and sterile technique
- Experience assisting with a variety of procedures, including general, orthopedic, and specialty surgeries
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care throughout all phases of perioperative services: pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
- Maintain sterile fields and adhere to infection control protocols at all times
- Monitor patients' vital signs, anticipate needs, and respond promptly to changes in patient status
- Document patient information accurately and completely in the medical record
- Prepare and organize operating room instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to and during procedures
- Educate patients and families about the surgical process and postoperative care instructions
