OR Registered Nurse | West Hartford, Connecticut

Qualifications:

• Valid and current RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent experience in the Operating Room setting
• Strong understanding of surgical asepsis and sterile technique
• Experience assisting with a variety of procedures, including general, orthopedic, and specialty surgeries
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care throughout all phases of perioperative services: pre-operative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other surgical team members to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Maintain sterile fields and adhere to infection control protocols at all times
• Monitor patients' vital signs, anticipate needs, and respond promptly to changes in patient status
• Document patient information accurately and completely in the medical record
• Prepare and organize operating room instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to and during procedures
• Educate patients and families about the surgical process and postoperative care instructions
