Play a key role in surgical care by providing skilled support in the Operating Room environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Registered Nurse who is proficient in both scrubbing and circulating, and enjoys working as a surgical first assist alongside a talented clinical team.
Schedule/Hours:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week (4x10s)
- On-call responsibility two weeknights (from 5pm or end of shift to 7am)
- One full weekend of call (Saturday and Sunday, 24 hours per day) every three weekends
What we're looking for:
- Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
- Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Completion of an RN First Assisting course meeting AORN Core Curriculum standards
- Five (5) years of peri-operative nursing experience with both scrubbing and circulating expertise
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct assistance to surgeons as first assist during operative procedures
- Circulate as needed for various cases and procedures
- Uphold organizational policies and surgical protocols for safety and compliance
- Collaborate closely with the surgical team, including surgeons, scrub techs, and other RNs
- Monitor patient status throughout the perioperative period, ensuring optimal outcomes
