Provide experienced nursing care in acute care settings with a focus on cardiac medical-surgical and medical-surgical telemetry patients. This contract opportunity requires adaptability to float between specialized cardiac units and general Med/Surg units, ensuring high-quality patient care across diverse environments.

Location:
This role is based in the vibrant city of Boston, Massachusetts, a hub for world-class healthcare facilities and cutting-edge medical research. Boston offers an excellent quality of life, abundant cultural attractions, and convenient access to education and public transportation.

Schedule and Hours:

  • 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience, with a strong focus on cardiac medical-surgical and telemetry patients
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different units and patient needs
  • Proficiency with Meditech IVs and telemetry monitoring
  • Independent ability to read telemetry strips and successfully pass an on-site exam on Day 1 with at least 84% (two attempts allowed)
  • EPIC electronic health record experience is strongly preferred
  • Preferred experience includes 3-5 years in med/surg telemetry settings

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver skilled nursing care to cardiac and medical-surgical patients
  • Monitor telemetry and respond promptly to changes in patient status
  • Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and adhere to safety protocols
  • Adapt to shifting unit assignments while ensuring continuity of care
