Bring your expertise in mother-baby nursing to a dedicated healthcare environment where you'll provide essential support to high-risk mothers and their newborns. This contract opportunity demands a Registered Nurse with specialized experience, ensuring compassionate and detail-oriented care during every shift.

Schedule:

  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts: 7:00pm – 7:30am
  • Every other weekend rotation

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current, active RN license
  • Previous experience working with high-risk mothers and newborns
  • BLS and NRP certifications (required)
  • Demonstrated history of employment at a high acuity facility
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to ask open-ended, insightful questions and maintain curiosity regarding patient cases
  • Effective communicator capable of clearly relaying pertinent patient information to interdisciplinary teams
  • Self-directed, organized, and reliable
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5

Role Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care for postpartum mothers and babies
  • Apply the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to meet patient and family needs
  • Delegate, supervise, and document all aspects of patient care
  • Educate patients and families regarding postpartum care, newborn care, and discharge instructions
  • Promote open, timely, and effective communication across the healthcare team
  • Respond proactively to patient care variances and collaborate to implement solutions
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment adhering to facility protocols and regulatory compliance
