Qualifications:

  • Valid, unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years' recent experience in a cardiac stepdown or telemetry setting
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and monitoring equipment
  • Proficiency in critical thinking and patient assessment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (current)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Closely monitor and assess cardiac stepdown patients’ conditions, recognizing changes promptly
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and cardiac interventions per protocol
  • Operate telemetry equipment and interpret cardiac rhythms accurately
  • Collaborate with physicians and allied health professionals to develop comprehensive care plans
  • Provide compassionate education and support to patients and their families regarding cardiac recovery
  • Document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient progress using electronic health records
  • Adhere strictly to facility protocols and infection control guidelines
