Step into a vital patient care leadership role, coordinating and delivering high-quality support for mothers and newborns in a high-acuity environment. This 13-week contract position is ideal for registered nurses with experience caring for at-risk mothers and babies, bringing their dedication and advanced skill set to a rewarding night shift schedule.

Schedule:

  • 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts
  • 7:00 pm – 7:30 am
  • Every other weekend required

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license with experience in Mother Baby nursing
  • Previous employment in a high-risk facility is required
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications
  • Skilled in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
  • Confidence in managing nurse-to-patient ratios up to 1:5
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping abilities
  • Proactive, with curiosity and a habit for asking thoughtful questions
  • Effective communicator, able to share critical information with healthcare teams and families
  • Self-starter able to adapt in a high-pressure, patient-centered setting

Role Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee compassionate, evidence-based care for mothers and newborns
  • Engage in comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Document care thoroughly and communicate changes promptly to the care team
  • Educate patients and families while providing emotional support throughout their hospital stay
  • Participate in patient care conferences to solve challenges and support continuous improvement
  • Delegate and supervise care as appropriate, ensuring team members are well-informed
  • Uphold standards for patient safety and infection prevention
