An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in mother-baby nursing. This contract position involves delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a dynamic environment, ideal for professionals with expertise in high-risk maternity settings. The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and excellent communication skills.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts, 7:00pm – 7:30am
  • Every other weekend required
  • 13-week assignment

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RN license
  • Proven experience caring for mothers and newborns in a high-risk facility
  • Proficient in managing risk mothers and babies
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications
  • Strong clinical documentation abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively ask detailed and open-ended questions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who works well independently
  • Capacity to manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and deliver exceptional patient and family-centered care
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide, delegate, and supervise care
  • Accurately document all care and teaching provided to patients and families
  • Communicate pertinent patient information effectively to the healthcare team
  • Problem-solve and implement solutions for variances in patient progress toward goals
  • Maintain high standards of practice in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting
