Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, valid RN license
- Minimum of one year recent experience in a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) setting
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement nursing interventions effectively
- Strong communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Proficient in monitoring patients post-surgery, administering medications, and managing potential complications
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia following surgery or other procedures
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and post-operative progress
- Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and recovery staff to support optimal outcomes
- Offer clear post-operative instructions and educate patients and their families on at-home care requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold standards for patient safety and privacy
