Deliver essential patient care and support in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) environment in a dynamic contract role. As a Registered Nurse specializing in PACU care, your expertise will be vital in monitoring post-surgical patients, ensuring their safe recovery, and providing compassionate care to individuals emerging from anesthesia.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN licensure
- Previous experience in PACU or critical care settings strongly preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong assessment, communication, and clinical skills
- Ability to respond quickly to emergent situations and work effectively under stress
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients’ vital signs post-operatively, assessing for complications and providing appropriate interventions
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following physician instructions
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to manage patient recovery and pain control
- Document care and patient assessments accurately and efficiently
- Educate patients and their families about expectations and discharge instructions
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to hospital policies and industry standards
