Working on a dedicated unit with 9 Preop beds and 5 Phase 2 recovery beds, you’ll collaborate with a highly skilled team and see a variety of cases—ranging from urology to GYN recoveries, endo, cath lab, and more. The unit values exceptional patient experiences and proactive communication, fostering an environment where nursing perspectives are respected and teamwork is essential.
Schedule/Hours:
- 5A – 5P
- On-call required, with a 30-minute response time
Qualifications:
- Active RN license and minimum 1-year current acute care Pre-Op RN hospital experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong patient communication skills, commitment to high patient satisfaction
- Preferred: Meditech proficiency and prior pre-op experience
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, compassionate care during pre-operative and Phase 2 recovery periods
- Prepare patients for surgery, procedures, and specialty infusions
- Monitor and assess patient recovery, utilizing equipment such as Pyxis, EKG, Doppler, and patient scales
- Foster collaboration by communicating effectively with providers and colleagues
- Assist with blood transfusions, diagnostic procedures, and prepare patients for outpatient interventions
