Take the next step in your nursing career with this contract-based opportunity in a dynamic Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a highly respected academic medical center. This role works primarily with pediatric patients ages 0–17, supporting an active Level 1 Trauma Center and acclaimed teaching hospital environment.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position, full-time hours as needed by unit
  • Shifts determined by assignment, based on pediatric surgery schedules

What You’ll Bring:

  • Active RN license with at least 1 year of recent pediatric critical care experience (2 years preferred)
  • Completion of at least one previous travel assignment is required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Proven background caring for post-surgical pediatric patients across multiple specialty areas (excluding cardiac)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients, both inpatient and outpatient
  • Manage critically ill children, including administering infusions such as heparin, insulin, and occasional cardiac drips
  • Monitor telemetry and respond effectively to changing patient status
  • Collaborate closely in an open bay, team-oriented environment
  • Adapt, use sound judgment, and proactively seek support in complex scenarios
  • Float as needed to care for occasional adult patients on the unit

  • Access to dedicated PACU educator, 24/7 anesthesia, and strong department leadership
  • Onsite transporter, HUC/receptionist support, and no phlebotomy required for nurses
  • Tools provided: EMR (Epic), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Philips monitors
