This academic medical center is a Level 1 Trauma facility and leading teaching hospital. Here, you'll work alongside a dedicated team in a dynamic PACU environment that cares for pediatric patients across a variety of surgical specialties (excluding cardiac). Expand your clinical skill set as you collaborate in a fast-paced, open bay setting, managing complex cases and benefiting from the hospital’s comprehensive orientation and strong interdepartmental support.
Schedule/Hours
- Full-time, travel assignment
Desired Qualifications
- Active RN license with a minimum of 1 year recent pediatric critical care experience (2 years preferred)
- Prior travel RN experience (must have completed at least one travel assignment)
- BLS and PALS certifications
- Adept in EPIC EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Philips monitoring systems
- Experience with heparin, insulin, and occasional cardiac drips in a post-op setting
- Self-motivated, resourceful, strong team player—and adaptable to “all hands on deck” teamwork in open bay units
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients—averaging 30-40 patients daily
- Collaborate closely with PACU educators, charge nurses, anesthesia, and support staff
- Perform telemetry monitoring, medication administration, and patient assessments
- Occasionally float to assist with adult PACU needs
