Schedule/Hours:
- Schedule varies to meet unit needs, ensuring valuable exposure to a range of shifts and workflow dynamics
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 1 year of pediatric critical care experience (2 years strongly preferred)
- Previous travel nursing assignment required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Skilled in managing postoperative pediatric patients, common ICU gtts (heparin, insulin, some cardiac)
- Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and emergency escalation
- EMR proficiency with EPIC preferred
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork orientation
Responsibilities:
- Provide PACU care for pediatric patients (including rare adult cross-cover)
- Monitor post-op recoveries, manage drips, IVs, and medication administration using Alaris and Omnicell systems
- Collaborate closely with anesthesia, charge nurses, transporters, and educators
- Maintain accurate documentation; ensure patient safety and comfort in a high-acuity, open-bay unit
