Schedule/Hours:

  • Schedule varies to meet unit needs, ensuring valuable exposure to a range of shifts and workflow dynamics

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with at least 1 year of pediatric critical care experience (2 years strongly preferred)
  • Previous travel nursing assignment required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Skilled in managing postoperative pediatric patients, common ICU gtts (heparin, insulin, some cardiac)
  • Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and emergency escalation
  • EMR proficiency with EPIC preferred
  • Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork orientation

Responsibilities:

  • Provide PACU care for pediatric patients (including rare adult cross-cover)
  • Monitor post-op recoveries, manage drips, IVs, and medication administration using Alaris and Omnicell systems
  • Collaborate closely with anesthesia, charge nurses, transporters, and educators
  • Maintain accurate documentation; ensure patient safety and comfort in a high-acuity, open-bay unit
